Eaglet and Eagle July 13, 2019

These photoes were taken on July 13, 2019.

Was surprised to see the eaglet was still staying close to the nest.

Although it's back was to the camera, it still managed to strike a coy pose.

Just a bit closer.

Is it sleeping?

Apparently, the term for this is unihemispheric sleep.

Birds can sleep with one eye open. You can read more about it

here.

.

The baby is getting almost as large as the parent.

A portion of the nest can be seen on the right side of the photo.

A bit closer.

Similar shot of the two sharing a branch.

A final close-up of the eage.

and of the eaglet.

Don't expect these two will be around the next time I make it down to the Point.
